pdm solutions GmbH organized the "Kill the Search Bar" hackathon in Berlin: three days, five teams, and a shared goal of rethinking how people discover, trust, and interact with digital platforms. The hackathon was mainly about their gelbeseiten.de website, which most German developers are likely very familiar with.
Over an intense weekend, teams built concepts, working prototypes, and new approaches to digital interaction, ranging from AI-native platform ideas to real-time data experiences. The final presentations and award ceremony took place at the vdav - Verband deutscher Auskunfts- und Verzeichnismedien e.V. industry meetup.
Our team, Enrico Michael, Martin Trifonov, Richard M., and me, won 1st place. We built novel, creative, and lucrative concepts for improving data quality that are now confidential.
